She explained that she chose to have a C-section after a conversation with her doctor.
"With my small frame and the fact that the Dr. Said theres an 85% chance I'd have an emergency situation. We went ahead and scheduled a cesarean to be on the safe side," she wrote.
She also shared that she was wary of getting negative comments, but felt like she was making the right decision for her and her baby.
"I'm sure there will be negative comments. But I have to do what's right for my body and what's healthy for my son. I've been mentally and spiritually preparing myself for this I'm trying to relax, and not worry! But I've never had surgery before, I've never even stayed in a hospital before, so I'm just a ball of nerves...soo I'd appreciate your prayers!!!"
Even though she was expecting some backlash, her followers have been super supportive.
Anna Duggar wrote, "Praying for a safe delivery and quick recovery! You are such an amazing momma already and I cant wait to meet precious baby Dax!"
And another wrote, "You got this!!!!!"
Btw: According to the Cleveland Clinic , C-sections are indeed a necessity for some women with small frames (specifically, if the pelvis is too small for the baby to pass through during a vaginal birth).
Known as cephalopelvic disproportion, sometimes "the babys head or body is too large to pass safely through the mothers pelvis, or the mothers pelvis is too small to deliver a normal-sized baby."
Here's hoping Amy has a speedy recovery!
