That might seem unfair, but the 'woke' world feels that normalization of systemic sexual harassment, bigotry, rape or misogyny in any form equates promoting those scourges. Thus, wokeness feels that to fight against the eradication of these vices, they have to be rooted against at every turn even when they come in ounces.

'Call-out' and cancel cultures are the ways which wokeness has combated these issues. It particularly enjoys making an example of popular figures. Its ploy is to drive deterrence in potential offenders to at least refrain from engaging in bigotry within the public eye. In a way, this argument makes sense. Normalization of bigotry in any form is subtle promotion of it.

Earlier today, Nigerian comedian couldn't get away with the level of bigotry that some of his OGs might have gotten away with. For his latest skit which also features Craze Clown, the comedian played one of three friends who spot a fine woman stepping out of her compound with all her curves popping.

Instead of simply approaching her with their chests, they place a bet on one of them to touch her bum. Pretending to be a police officer, that one of them caressed the ladies curves without remorse. Then, the other two joined in by pretending to be members of some medical association. They also enjoyed their touch of a beautiful woman under duress.

Arguments might be made that they made a satire, but the sarcasm was missing. What we watched was three men enjoying the panic of a beautiful woman without remorse.

The problem with these supporters is that they conflated comedy with what is being portrayed in the skit. Sometimes, the intention might be comedy, but the means through which that is communicated matters.
