How they met, their love story-

Wale met Dami met in two years ago through his elder brother when he came to Nigeria for the first time in 11 years.

At the time, serious relationship was the last thing on his mind, but he got along well with Dami.

On the 13th of September, 2013, Wale and Dami had their first date at a peppersoup joint in Surulere, Lagos with their friends Banky, Fola, and Morakinyo, where Wale invited Dami on another date.

The next day, Dami met Wale at a wedding he was hosting and even though there were other people at the party, they were in their own little world , enjoying each other’s company and chatting intensely for about 3 hours.

On the 16th of September, 2013, Dami and Wale had their first solo date, which led to more dates on the 17th, 18th, 21st, and the 22nd of September, 2013, punctuated by long phone calls that lasted well into the night.

Unfortunately, on the 23rd of September, 2013, Wale returned to the US, however they agreed to keep things open, and both reluctantly committed to a long distance relationship.

On the 17th of October, 2013, after many Skype calls, voice calls and instant messages, Wale asked Dami to be his girlfriend with tears of joy in his eyes, and Dami accepted because she had no doubt that he was “The One”.

After she became his girlfriend, Dami went visiting on the 17th of December, 2014, and met Wale at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, who was waiting with open arms and a bouquet of flowers, for the first time in three months.

They spent three weeks together over the Christmas holidays – their best time ever, and by the time Dami was returning to Nigeria, they were both sure that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and the rest is history.

The proposal-

After dating for a while, Wale decided to pop the question in August, last year, to Damiat New York City’s Times Square with a flash mob, a seemingly random group of people dancing, along to On Top Your Matter by Wizkid(Dami's favorite song)

The lovely couple tie the knot this August.
