'Should I ask wedding guests to pay for my honeymoon?' Bride-to-be wonders

Organising a wedding is not a cheap undertaking.

"There is no good way to ask for money or gifts," argued one internet user. However, not everyone was of the same opinion.

Organising a wedding is not a cheap undertaking. This expense may turn out to be an even greater challenge when the couple has settled down before the wedding.

A future bride with six years of experience and a three-year-old child is perfectly aware of the costs of maintaining a family. That's why the woman decided to share her invitation template on a group dedicated to budget wedding organisation on Facebook.

The future wife asked other brides how she could politely ask the guests for... money.

The woman who shared her wedding invitation template online described that the ceremony scheduled for October would take place on a farm in Alabama, and that the main theme of the entire event would be The Great Gatsby and "the dark forest of fairies."

Everything is already planned, and the only problem turned out to be the honeymoon, for which the couple lacks funds.

"How to indicate that we do not need wedding gifts and would prefer a gift in the form of a honeymoon fund ? Please help, I'm very confused and I don't want to sound rude," wrote the woman in a fragment of her online entry quoted by Seven News.

The draft wedding invitation read, "Instead of traditional wedding gifts, the bride and groom request gifts for the honeymoon fund."

The woman's post was met with great interest by other group members, who almost immediately told her to remove this fragment from her invitation.

"Don't ask for money or gifts. There is no right way to ask for money or gifts," argued one of the internet users.

Others suggested that the bride and groom should not express the request directly, but only add a QR code to the invitation with a link to the honeymoon fund.

There were also those who thought that the phrase used by the woman in her invitation was completely appropriate.
