I feel it is a rumour. And I don't know what to do.

Dear Bukky,

Good day, my story is long but, I will summarize it.

My girlfriend has been in the UK for over a year for her Master’s degree. I am in Nigeria, she recently started getting too busy to call me.

Throughout this October, she has not called me. She has initiated a chat only once this month. I have complained to her and she explained how her schedule normally goes and that she is not intentionally doing it.

Someone recently told me she is planning to get married, I feel it is a rumour. And I don't know what to do.

Dear reader,

It’s an easy, obvious one. Not the situation, of course. It is what you have to do that is obvious.

Call that woman and ask her! You cannot leave something as huge as this to chance, hearsay and all that stuff. If your girlfriend is rumoured to be in a relationship, or even marriage with someone else, you have got to know about it.

Call her up. Ask her about it. Ask her where your relationship with her is headed, ask her what she wants with you, what she expects from the relationship.

This should trigger her to talk about anything that may be happening with some other guy. You can also tell her that you see yourself ending with her. Tell her you can’t wait till she’s your wife sometime in the future. Watch her reactions when you are saying all of these.

If she does not come forth with what she is feeling, her reactions to these things could be your cue to knowing how she feels about it exactly.

But whatever you do, you can’t intentionally leave yourself in the dark when it comes to this.
