79-year-old groom swims to his wedding in a bowtie! [VIDEO]

Watch the groom prove his love for his new bride by swimming over 2,600 feet in pouring rain to get to his wedding.

Epic groom

Trygve Bernhardsen, the groom, is setting a standard for all men out there.

In order to prove his love, and commitment, Trygve decided to swim to his wedding wearing just a black bowtie and briefs.

On this epic display of love, the bride, Ellen Hertzberg, in an interview with Norwegian newspaper Agderposten, stated the swim was an important part of her husband's commitment to her.

"He didn't want to marry me unless he was allowed to swim to his bride, and I thought that was great."

She also added that she never doubted her husband because their long relationship instilled confidence in her, adding that Trygve swims in the often-frigid Norwegian waters both in summer and winter.

"I was never afraid. He's like a seal. This swim was nothing for him. I have found the best man in the world."

However, the 79-year-old groom confessed to a little difficulty towards the end noting his relief that his two grandchildren were with him.

"It was terribly cold, I could feel the cold towards the end of the swim. My legs were completely stiff."

His bride greeted him upon his arrival on the rocky shore in her wedding dress, bouquet, and all.
