In light of the legalisation of same-sex weddings, Texas judge has a new requirement.
Judge makes new requirement for weddings
Texas judge, James R. DePiazza, sets new requirement before marrying any couple, straight or single.
The requirement- to sign a document acknowledging his views, which is that he is very opposed to same-sex weddings.
The document states, "Judge DePiazza prefers to NOT conduct same-sex ceremonies, but will not decline anyone who chooses to schedule with him."
It also requires those who wish to be married by DePiazza not mention same-sex weddings to him "before, during or after the ceremony."
DePiazza added to WFAA, the local ABC station, "if anyone does, the service will be stopped and the participants will be given a refund."
The document starts with "Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!" and ends with "Thank you for your consideration, and again CONGRATULATIONS!!" when it holds no congratulatory messages.
