A bride has secured a restraining order against her ex-husband from the Supreme Court in Ireland after he crashed her wedding claiming that they weren't divorced.

The man was prohibited by the Supreme Court from bringing any more legal actions over family law issues unless he has permission of a court.

The embittered ex-husband had turned up as his ex-wife was exchanging vows with her new partner at the wedding ceremony, claimed that her second marriage was illegal because he appealed the divorce decree she obtained from the court.

The judge who granted the restraining order dismissed the man's claim.

“The former wife is entitled to be protected from further nonsensical proceedings,” he added.

The court also dismissed an appeal by the bride's ex-husband over proceedings related to the breakup of the marriage and custody of their three children.

The court also directed the couple undergo marriage counselling and that divorce proceedings be issued.
