Lagos Veg Fest: Celebrating Healthy Lifestyle - Hakeem Jimo

Pulse VIP Blogger, Hakeem Jimo shares eating the healthy way

A Veg lifestyle is a lifestyle that comes with amazing and almost instant benefits: better weight management, blood pressure control, longevity, higher vitality and much more. I am going to write about all of them in this Pulse VIP Blogger column.

However, there is popular German saying: 'A farmer won't eat what he does not know'. Meaning, if you do not know about other foods, you will likely not try it and miss out. I can talk a little about that, because in the one year plus we have been running VeggieVictory – Nigeria's 1st Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant - we had encounters with so many people that were initially sceptical about the deliciousness of non-meat food. Literally only when they had their first bite of VegMeat meals like our VeganSuya the story change and they were instantly convinced about this alternative and healthier food option. At VeggieVictory we always knew that we have to get people to have their first try of our food.

The Lagos Veg Fest is now the boldest step towards promoting a delicious Veg lifestyle. From October 10th to 12th, Freedom Park in Lagos Island on Broad Street will host the so far largest Vegan & Vegetarian festival in Nigeria. As if that is not enough, it won't be only on Veg food festival but also a platform for healthy, natural, green and sustainable products. Please visit the website www.lagosvegfest.com to get more information on this unique festival.

At the heart of Lagos Veg Fest is the exhibition site with over 30 stands including a Veg food court, natural cosmetics and health products, healthy food items and so much more. Just to give you an idea: 'Nuts About Cakes' will introduce their healthy cakes; SoFresh will have delicious Green and other smoothies, Green Grill House offers crispy salads, VeggieVictory – Nigeria's 1st Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant comes with Vegan Suya, Shawarma and Nigerian dishes and so much more.

Running, Yoga and Taekwondo events will bring fun to exercise. A highlight is going to be the 'Yes Ve Gan! Fashion Show'. Designers Kinabuti and Queen Ahneva Ahneva - vegetarians themselves – with their fashion collection will show the connection between beauty and a healthy diet and why so many celebrities in the world have chosen a Veg lifestyle.

Justin P. Morre, an American chef is coming from Germany to demonstrate High-end Vegan cooking. Film screenings and speaker sessions with a huge variety of topics complete the program. Among the topics: 'Corporate Health' panel by LiveWell Initiative and an SMEe & professionals forum organized by Simi Lawoyin. Let your whole family enjoy the healthy life. And the best of all: no entrance fee! See you October 10-12 to celebrate a new lifestyle! Of course, Pulse.Ng as a media partner is in the middle of it!
