How to survive the last week in January

January has been a really tough month for a lot of people financially but here is a last ditch survival guide.

Let's be a hundred percent honest, a lot of people are really waiting to get paid their first salary in the new year.

January has been a really tough month for a lot of people financially. This is the aftermath of the festive period celebration.

It has been a real struggle to live on just a little amount of money for so many.

The bad new is there is only one week left in the month of January, which seems so far, but the good news is there is also only one week left before you get your first salary for the year.

Here are three important ways you can survive the last week left in January.

1. Live below your means

One way to survive the rest of January is trying to live below your means.

If you normally eat out all the time, then you should stop for a while and save more by cooking yourself. If you go to the bar frequently, then it is time to stop that lifestyle, so you can save more.

Cut down on things you normally spend more money on. Spend only on the important essentials.

2. Break down your daily expense

You'll need to break down how you want to spend money for the day. This is why it is important to plan how you want your day to go properly.

You should assign a certain amount to everything you want to do each day.

If you have a thousand naira you want to spend every day, then allocate a sum to everything you want to spend money on. It would help to manage your expenses even better.

3. Shop sensibly

If you have the habit of shopping without a list and also shopping on impulse then you might find it hard to survive the last week of January.

Avoid shopping on impulse and buying unnecessary things by listing out the things you want to buy before going out to shop.

Doing this would give you an idea how much you will be spending while shopping.
