The much anticipated iPhone X which marks Apple's anniversary went on sale across the world on Friday, November 3, 2017. Of course, thousands of people queued or are probably still in a long queue waiting to get their hands on the new smartphone.

You have to trust our Nigerian brethren. I'm pretty sure the big boys and slay mamas who can afford it, got their hands on the smartphone the same day it dropped while some are already breaking their accounts and doing all sorts to save up for the phone.

But really, do you need to get an iPhone X when the phone you are using is still in good condition.

There are various things you could get with 360k instead of getting an iPhone X.

1. Buy a land

Now when I say buy a land, I know some people will say you can't get a land in Lagos for that price. I'm not saying get a land in Lagos. Go outside Lagos to buy a land.

There are places you can get a plot or two plots of land for as low as 200,000 naira.

Land appreciates, iPhone X will definitely depreciate.

2. Start a business by the side

Instead of wasting so much on a phone, you can make more by investing the money in something profitable.

With 360,000 naira in your hand, you can start a side business.

Think of a small reasonable business you can go into, draw a plan out and set out to start.

3. Pay a year house rent

If you are still under your parent's roof and you want to use that kind of money to buy an iPhone. Please let me know, so I can tell your parents how their child is such a wasteful spender.

With that amount of money in Lagos, you can move out and get yourself a 2-bedroom apartment in a good place on the mainland.

There are some other places in Nigeria you can rent a whole duplex with that amount or even less.

4. Take a professional course

You can register for a professional course with that amount. Be a professional in your field.

If you are into business, register in a school for professional masters in business administration.

Just get better and become a master in your field. No knowledge is wasted but if your iPhone X breaks, the money is wasted and it would cost even more to fix it.

5. Save the money

If your present phone is still in good condition, why do you want to waste so much on a new phone. Even if your phone is bad, get a phone way cheaper that can do same functions.

Instead of spending so much on a smartphone, you can save the money and use it for a reasonable future project or better still invest it in something profitable and watch your money multiply.

After getting an iPhone X and opening the box, the value of the phone has automatically dropped.
