Watch the Survivor Contestants React to the Edge of Extinction Twist at the Merge

Big things are going down on this week's episode of Survivor. As if the merge weren't a big deal on its own, every contestant is also about to learn that their eliminated peers never actually left the game.

Watch 'Survivor' Contestants React to a Big Twist

On Monday, CBS released a sneak peek of Wednesday's episode-and it gives you a good look at how the unsuspecting Survivor contestants react to this season's massive "Edge of Extinction" twist.

The scene begins like every other Survivor merge, with Jeff Probst telling everyone to drop their buffs. But as everyone opens up their new red merge buffs, Probst drops one hell of a Survivor bomb-one that we, the viewers, knew about already, but that the contestants sure didn't see coming.

"Over the years, certain moments on Survivor have become iconic," Probst says. "Some moments take years to become iconic. Others become iconic the moment they happen.

"This might be one of them."

And then-as everyone looks terrified-Probst yells: "COME ON IN!"

That's when the six Edge of Extinction contestants-Reem, Keith, Chris, Rick ("Devens"), Aubry, and Wendy-march out of the trees. Understandably, everyone freaks out; imagine what it would feel like to blindside someone and vote them out, only to learn you're going to have to play with them again.

So how exactly will the Edge of Extinction players compete to get back in the game? In this tweet from the official Survivor Twitter account, we see the six eliminated players facing off in a classic Survivor obstacle course:

Not one, but TWO epic battles in one night! You dont want to miss Wednesdays #Survivor clash followed by the kick-off of @MillionDollar ! It all starts at 8/7c. pic.twitter.com/nmcD6z4TmA - SURVIVOR (@survivorcbs) March 21, 2019

We'll have to wait for Wednesday night's episode to find out who gets back in the game!
