Talking like this will make you more attractive to women

Women rated the attractiveness of 140 men based on facial photos, which were presented along with compliments.

If you’re not picking up what I’m putting down, what I’m trying to say is this: Chicks dig dudes who use metaphorical language. That’s according to a recent study published in Scientific Reports.

Researchers at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China spoke to 116 straight female college students about their preferences in compliments from men.

The women rated the attractiveness of 140 men based on facial photos, which were presented along with compliments.

Each compliment was either metaphorical or literal and commented on the woman’s appearance or her house.

The men who used metaphorical language were found to be more attractive than their literal counterparts, and compliments on appearance were preferred to those on possessions. “Your eyes are a gorgeous rainbow,” for example, was preferred to “Your lips are sexy.”

Why the preference for metaphors? The researchers believe they indicate intelligence and creativity, which other studies have confirmed are traits women prefer. “We tend to form very rapid impressions about a person’s attractiveness in social contexts and thus from women, cues from language during initial encounters may provide a rapid first assessment of a potential mate’s intellectual and creative abilities,” the authors wrote.

However, what you should not do is catcall with more flowery language. That’ll still make you an asshole, no matter how creative you are.
