To round off your week, we present to you a video of Wednesday's thrilling bout between a horse and an alligator at Florida's Payne's Prairie Preserve State Park. Though the animals may not seem like natural adversaries, as you can see in this video, their tense stand-off culminates in an epic showdown between two of Mother Nature's most celebrated classes. Mammal vs. reptile: Who ya got?

Let's consider their respective attributes. With the alligator, you have deceptive speed, and a crushing jaw. Once that gator gets a horse's leg in his mouth, he ain't lettin' go. But will the horse, with its elusive gait and height advantage on dry land, even give him that opportunity?

As you can see, the horse really messed that reptile up. It wasn't even much of a fight, was it? The equine pugilist got some nice punches in before his opponent scurried away with his tail literally between his legs. Perhaps things would've been different in aquatic environs, but this gator was no tuna, clearly.
