Noura Is the Survivor Gift That Keeps on Giving

Warning: Spoilers ahead for episode 4 of Survivor: Island of the Idols!

Noura Is the 'Survivor' Gift That Keeps on Giving

Last night's episode of Survivor gifted us with one of the funniest sequences of events we've ever seen on the show. It all started when Noura volunteered to go to the Island of the Idols. When she was dropped off at the isolated beach and saw Boston Rob and Sandra walking toward her, she referred to Rob as a "handsome man," and did not note that he was in fact a former winner and Survivor legend. This leads us to believe that Noura has no idea who Boston Rob and Sandra actually are. But I digress.

Boston Rob explained that the lesson of the day was about persuasion, and Noura would have to persuade her tribe to let her to be the caller at the next immunity challenge, which would entail directing her blindfolded tribe through an obstacle course. If she was successful, she would earn the right to block someone's vote at the next tribal council; if she failed, she would lose her vote at tribal. Noura immediately agreed to the deal. Like, immediately. And when Sandra suggested that she take a moment to think about it, Noura declined.

And what did Boston Rob think of this hasty decision?

"Noura is the last person youd want in the caller position," he said. "She cannot coherently communicate anything to anyone. Shes living in Noura world."

When Noura got back to her tribe, she started to campaign for the caller role in the most confusing way possible. Her tribe knew she was lying about something, and their trial run of the upcoming challenge surely didn't convince anyone that Noura should be the caller.

When they actually got to the challenge, Lauren and the rest of the Vokai tribe unanimously declared that Noura would be the one to sit out. This led to a flood of reactions and memes from Survivor fans online:

The tribe: so you're saying we have to unanimously agree on a role for you to play without knowing what the competition is? That doesn't make sense. Can you explain? Noura: #survivor pic.twitter.com/t7yVZ4nxCV Shay (@itsaSHORRthing)

And even some former Survivor players weighed in:

And while Noura hasn't weighed in her very oddyet funnylie, Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly why he thinks she failed:

"A good lie has to have some basis in reality, especially on Survivor," he said. "There were other ways she could have maneuvered to be the caller, but the minute she told the tribe that story...she was done."
