Everything We Know About Fargo Season 4

Fargo might just be the most underrated show on TV right now, and the show's first three seasons have combined sinister murder plots with dark comedy and superb acting. Based spiritually on the 1996 Coen Brothers movie of the same name, the anthology series features a new story and cast each season, and each season is also set in a different time period.

As Collider reports, season 4 of Fargo will follow two criminal organizationsone Italian and the other African-Americanas they quarrel in 1950s Kansas City, Missouri. Chris Rock will play Loy Cannon , the head of one family, and Timothy Olyphant will play Richard "Deafy" Wickware, the head of the other.

And while the two groups seem to reach a ceasefire due to an unusual peace agreement, it's later eventually broken by the death of the head of the Kansas City mafia.

The rest of the cast will include Jack Huston, Uzo Aduba, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, Jessie Buckley, and Amber Midthunder.

The three previous seasons of Fargo have taken place in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, so season four is the first to deviate from that setting. However, it's been clear that all seasons of the anthology series take place in the same universe, and Fargo's writer and creator Noah Hawley explained how the new season connects to the others.

"Its no coincidence that Ben Whishaws character is named [Rabbi] Milligan," Hawley said during a conversation with TheWrap at the Television Critics Association. A hitman named Mike Milligan appeared in season two (played brilliantly and nominated for an Emmy by Bokeem Woodbine), and he worked for the Kansas City Mafia. And while Hawley didn't expand more on the connection, fans will be sure to find some Easter eggs when the season premieres.
