“The Rock” is the sexiest man alive, surprising nobody

The wrestler/actor/superstar adds one more title to his name

One of our most cherished traditions as men is the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover reveal every February. If there’s a female equivalent, it’s People’s annual reveal of The Sexiest Man Alive.

This morning, the magazine gave the 2016 title to a guy we know and love at Men’s Health: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Hey, who are we to disagree? We’ve put Johnson on our cover three times, most recently in May 2015. The wrestler-turned-actor is the total package: He’s talented, charismatic, good-looking, and fit as hell.

At 6’5” and 245 pounds, Johnson boasts tree trunk-sized arms, a ripped torso, and bulging quads. His workouts are so epic, Men’s Health editors frequently joke that every time The Rock posts a gym selfie on Instagram, we should write about it.

In addition to his freakish physique, Johnson is the consummate Men’s Health guy—from his non-stop hustle (he reportedly has a whopping 20 movies on tap, including next year’s Baywatch and Fast 8) to his relentless commitment to being a better man (he often wakes up at 4 a.m. to do eat, lift, and seize the day).

So props to you, People, for the excellent pick. Just remember: He was our guy first.
