During an interview on Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa (quite possibly the most Australian-sounding title of anything, ever), Hemsworth's wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky , joked that she has had to issue a ban on movie props in their house as he kept bringing home a new version of the hammer after finishing work on each movie.
"Yes, he always picks the best places in the house," she said, hinting that Hemsworth making sure Mjolnir has pride of place might clash just a tad with the decor.
And while the actor would gladly keep bringing his treasured props home with him, Pataky has put a stop to it probably a wise move, given that Thor's weapon in the final two Avengers movies, Stormbreaker, isn't exactly small. And he has at least one more Thor movie in his future.
"Its not going there," she added. "We have five of them for every movie hes done. Like, seriously, no."
The next film in the Thor franchise, Love & Thunder , will see Mjolnir being wielded by another hero; Jane Foster, Thor's love interest from the first two movies, played once again by Natalie Portman. Based on a 2014 storyline from the comics, the movie will follow Jane as she assumes the title and powers of Thor, becoming the Goddess of Thunder . So presumably it will be Portman, and not Hemsworth, who will be clearing space on the mantlepiece once filming wraps this time.
