'Amazing Race' Contestants Are Sharing Their Best Laos Memories on Instagram Ahead of New Episode

As of season 30, The A mazing Race has been to about 89 countries , and now that season 31 is underway, that number will continue to go up as the CBS show travels around the globe. On tonight's episode, the show is going to head to Laos for the first time. The Southeast Asian country has the distinction of being the only landlocked country in the region, and in a preview of the episode, we see the contestants compete in different challenges involving elephants, an open-air market, and tuk-tuks.

'TAR' Is Heading to Laos For the First Time

Many of the contestants felt a connection with the country, and a number of them posted Instagram photos detailing their time there. Korey Kuhl, who is partnered with Tyler Oakley, posted a photo explaining why preparing raw meat (one of the episode's challenges) made him "emotional."

"The day started off with a beautiful ceremony of presenting gifts to local monks and then in true Race fashion things get a little more chaotic," he wrote. "Doing this task made me super emotional because I come from a family of butchers and I could feel my grandparents, dad, and brothers helping me while we were there that morning."

Eliza Orlins is partnered with fellow Survivor alum Corrine Kaplan, and she's actually been to Laos before. "Laos is such a special and beautiful country and I wasnt sure I would ever get to go back," Orlins wrote on Instagram.

Rachel Reilly is back on Amazing Race, but this time she's with her sister Elissa Slater. Reilly posted a photo of the contestants with a number of Buddhist monks, and she wrote that the experience taught her that she needs to slow down. "Ive had to teach my self to take time to stop look around and really focus on what Im doing where I am and who Im experiencing life with," she said.

Amazing Race Colin Guinn is back with his wife Christie Woods, and he posted a sneak peek of tonight's episode, calling it "a rare moment on The Amazing Race when you get to drop in and simply appreciate the local culture."

It's great to see that Laos had such an impact on the contestants, but sadly, one of these teams must go home tonight . Tune in tonight at 9 p.m. on CBS to see who it is.
