Lekan Babalola hosts listening party for new album 'Lakaaye'

Lekan Babalola's album listening party was a good time.

Two-time Grammy award-winning artist, Lekan Babalola had this album listening party on Saturday, October 16, 2021.

The event took place at Ogidi Studios in Lekki Phase One with friends and fans in attendance enjoying the ambience with small chops, conversation and cool jazz music.

Lekan Babalola’s album is a mixture of old and new sounds. With the fruity sounds of jazz mixed with some spoken word, afrobeats and rap.

The album has released by Oyeku Meji Studio has 11 tracks.

Some tracks from the album like 'Lakaaye' and 'I gave my love a Cherry' was rendered by Babalola and Ogidi Studio's music band, Gidi Gang.

Compact Disc copies were sold at the event as well-wishers showed support, though the album can be streamed online.

On the album, Babalola thinks that it is an album that both the old and young will enjoy and relate to. He describes it as dance house music.
