In a somewhat bizarre twist of events, the United Kingdom has been forced to fly in two cargo planes of biscuits following an acute shortage of biscuits in the region.

The biscuits have been flown to South Yorkshire in the past two weeks after flooding in Cumbria forced United Biscuits who manufacture products under McVitie’s, Jacob’s and Crawford’s to close its Carlisle factory, causing an acute shortage.

The biscuits have been flown to South Yorkshire in the past two weeks after flooding in Cumbria forced United Biscuits who manufacture products under McVitie’s, Jacob’s and Crawford’s to close its Carlisle factory, causing an acute shortage.
According to Independent, two Boeing 777 aircrafts filled with biscuits were flown into the Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which should help to satisfy Britain’s biscuit cravings until the United Biscuits factory is fully up and running again.
The flooding caused damage to electrical equipment and ovens, leading the factory to close on 5th December, 2015.

Expressing appreciation to loyal fans and customers, United Biscuits Factory General Manager, Mike Heaney assured that the factory was well on its way to the full resumption of baking.
Meanwhile, an earlier statement from the company said many United Biscuits employees had been using their free time to support the community in Carlisle including making “local door to door biscuit drops”.
United Biscuits is beyond such popular biscuit brands in Nigeria like Rich Tea, Digestive, Jacob's Cream Crackers and more.
