The paramount ruler has announced that the Otisese Carnival will hold in Ile-Ife, Osun State in December.

According to Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Otisese Carnival which is set to hold from December 5 to December 7, 2016 aims to celebrate the reign of the Ooni.

The carnival is also aimed at promoting unity among the Yoruba people while bringing the rich cultural heritage of of Ile-Ife to the world.

The 2016 carnival is the maiden edition of the three-day festival. There are a lot of interesting performances from performers such as the Otisese Youth Cup tourney, live music concert, cultural carnival parade, royal banquet among others.

Successful artistes such as Olamide, Solidstar, fuji king, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal and many more are billed to perform at the live music concert.

One of the organisers, Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji said: “There are surfeit of festivals held annually in the country, but believe me; Otisese is the first of its kind. The festival is not only geared towards promoting unity and prosperity among the Yoruba race but to also accentuate Nigeria’s rich and meritorious culture to the world. The festival will serve as an avenue to bring about peace and prosperity in Nigeria at large”.

The Otisese Carnival is expected to have some of the most prestigious dignitaries from home and abroad in attendance.
