The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi opened in Lagos in 2011.
The fifth anniversary of the hotel was last week and one of the events held to celebrate the occasion is an art exhibition by Gbenga Offo, one of the top contemporary artists in Nigeria.
The exhibition, curated by Sandra Mbanefo Obiago of SMO Contemporary Art, is themed 'Freedom' and it will will run for four months, between October 15 2016 and January 15, 2017.

The exhibition, which features 39 paintings and sculptures by the artist is sponsored by Veuve Clicquot.
'Freedom''highlights the Freedom series, a presentation of Offo's first collection of metal sculptures made with bronze, wrought iron and stainless steel.
The sculptures are complemented by amazing paintings done in the cubist style the artist is known for. There are also sketches on charcoal and pencil.
Some of the titles of the works in the Freedom series are 'Detail of sweet conversation', 'The letter', 'Flip', 'Hope 1 and 11', 'Mutual respect', 'Two lovers', 'Still missing', 'Kiss', 'Lady with fan', 'The Orchestra'.
