How to make yam porridge

Yam porridge, also known as Asaro, is a widely eaten Nigerian dish made by cooking yam in a thick, oily, fish broth.

Rich in carbohydrates, yams are a staple in Nigeria enjoyed in a variety of ways - boiled, fried, roasted or pounded.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tuber of yam
  • Palm oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • Red pepper or ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of ground crayfish
  • 1 smoked fish
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Seasoning cube
  • Fresh green vegetables like green or scent leaf, also known as
