If there ever was an ingredient that should be included in every smoothie, it should be ginger.

Ginger contains a host of nutrients like sodium, potassium, protein and more, but most noteworthy is the fact that it  improves the absorption and assimilation of essential nutrients in the body.

It also aids digestion, clears the sinuses amongst other things, which makes this the perfect smoothie if you're experiencing digestion challenges or even need to detox.

What you need:

  • 1 cup water, or more as needed
  • 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • 4 frozen strawberries, or more to taste
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar

Directions:

Blend water, blueberries, strawberries, ginger, and agave nectar together in a blender until thick and smooth.
