Cocktails are usually associated with nights out and other fun activities.
Nights out, clubbing, dinner with friends amongst others are some of the first things we cut out of our budget when our finances get tight. So, here's the deal, you can choose to stay home to save money and still enjoy a great drink or two, with or without friends, and you don't even need to spend a fortune while stocking your own cocktail bar. With just a few ingredients and a little planning, you can enjoy a nice variety of drinks.
Here are some of the great cocktails you can enjoy without having to spend so much. Just do it yourself.
1. Sex on the beach
Ingredients: Cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka and peach schnapps.
Method: Mix all the drinks together in a shaker. Be sure to add the alcohol first so it won't float to the top. Shake, and strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.
2. Rum and coke
Ingredients: Rum and Coke
Method: Mix up the rum and the coke. You can add some fresh lemon juice to switch things up a bit. Serve in a glass over fresh ice.
3. Long Island Iced Tea
Ingredients: light rum, vodka, gin tequila, lime juice, coke.
Method: Mix all the alcoholic ingredients and the lime together. Pour into a glass over ice and top up with coke.
4. Lemon Drop Martini
Ingredients: Vodka, lemon juice and sugar
Method: Add a drop of lemon into a mixture of Vodka and sugar. Mix properly.
5. Vodka Sunset
Ingredients: vodka, orange juice and raspberry cordial
Method: Shake up the orange juice and the vodka, pour it into a glass over ice and drop in the cordial, letting it sink to the bottom.
6. Cape Codder
Ingredients: Cranberry and vodka
Method: Cape Codder is a simple drink mixture of cranberry and vodka. Shake it and serve it "up" in a cocktail glass.
7. Woo woo
Ingredients: peach schnapps, vodka and cranberry juice.
Method: Mix them together, add the vodka and peach schnapps first, followed by the cranberry juice.
