Air travel often comes with comfort challenges as some seats will have you in an uncomfortable or cramped position for the duration of the flight.

You may be assigned to a seat that doesn’t recline or one that is right opposite the restroom. If you want to get a little bit of comfort on a flight by getting the best seat without paying extra, this is for you.
Here are three simple tips for getting the best seat:
1. Fly at midweek:
According to statistics, the least number of air travelers fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Less passengers mean more seats, and this means more options to choose from.
To ensure access to the biggest selection of seats so that you can choose the most comfortable ones, travel at midweek.
2. Don’t select your seat before the flight:
A lot of travellers pre-choose seats when they book their flights. This is not always advisable. It is better to let the airline assign you a seat as you check in. Why? The airlines cannot require you to pay for a premium seat if that is the only seat available.
So there is a possibility that you might be assigned a premium seat for free. Especially if all the other passengers have chosen their seats.
3. Volunteer to sit in an emergency exit:
Flight attendants fill the emergency exit rows with passengers who are capable of assisting in an emergency.
You may volunteer if flight attendants want to fill the seats with passengers. Sitting there gives you a lot of extra leg room and it is usually an emptier row.
