Maid in Manhattan, Coming to America and Pretty Woman are just some of the movies which have gone down in history as movie classics that defined an entire generation.

While we remember them for their highly entertaining story lines, we also remember places where these movies were shot, particularly the hotels/hotel rooms that were pivotal to the plot of the movies.

1. Park Hyatt Tokyo: This served as a setting for the 2003 comedy Lost in Translation, starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. Asides the amazing view offered, guests can enjoy the same Japanese whiskey that Murray’s character promotes at the New York Bar and enjoy a swim in the same pool where he swims laps.

2. Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel Beverly Hills California: No 90's childhood was complete except you saw the movie "Pretty Woman" starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, and several pivotal scenes of this movie were done in this hotel. It's however noteworthy to point out that the movie wasn't exactly shot in the hotel, rather film makers built sets based on the guest rooms for other scenes. This doesn't however mean guests can't enjoy a stay in the hotel and walk down memory lane.

4. Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles:The Italian Job, Ocean's Eleven and Ghost Busters are just some of the films that have been filmed here. In fact, it's not uncommon to see  “Filming in Progress” signs throughout the hotel.

5. Hotel Regina Paris: The setting of The Bourne Identity, this 5-star hotel was converted from a king’s stable into a hotel for the World Expo in 1900 and sits right across the road from the world famous museum, Louvre.

6. Fontainbleau Miami Beach: This served as a setting for such iconic movies like Scarface, The Bodyguard, as well as the introductory scene in Goldfinger.

7. The Plaza Hotel, New York: Over a century old, the hotel was opened in 1907  on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Central Park South. The hotel has served as setting for such movies as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Great Gatsby, and American Hustle.
