Solo travelling can be just as exciting especially as it accords one the opportunity to do exactly what you want, when you want to do it.

Travelling with a group of friends and/or family can make for great fun and exciting moments, however there are just such times when busy schedules do not permit this luxury.

But your vacation needn't suffer for this clash in schedule. Solo travelling can be just as exciting especially as it accords one the opportunity to do exactly what you want, when you want to do it.

So, if you're looking to embark on a solo trip soon, check out these great destinations for their safety plus fun offerings.

1. Norway: If you're looking for a very safe destination where you can engage in adventurous outings without fear or worry, then head to this Nordic belt. According to the OECD Better Life Index, Norway has low crime and homicide rates.

2. Vancouver, Canada: Nigerians may be familiar with the immigrant-friendly Canada, but Vancouver makes for a great destination for solo travellers as it offers lots of boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and markets, not to mention the Stanley Park which is great for hiking.

3. Greek Isle: Greece may be in economic turmoil now, but the country still has amazing sights to offer especially for the solo traveller. You can either wander through the buildings that make up the Greek aisle, lounge on the beaches or take a boat cruise through the bright blue waters.

4. Ireland: First off, with Ireland you can count on some very friendly locals which is great help to any solo traveller There is also an array of bed and breakfasts, pubs and ofcourse the breathtaking Irish countryside to explore.

5. Stockholm, Sweden: This quaint city offers a variety of options like kayaking or biking through the city, eating at one of its numerous outdoor cafes or just check out art at Moderna Museet.

6. Netherlands: What's not to love about the cosmopolitan Netherland. There's also the fact that Travel + Leisure magazine voted the Dutch as the most laid-back and accepting people in Europe. 7. Singapore: While this country has more rules (mostly strange) than it's counterparts, this city-state is still a beautiful compact country which is great for introducing newbies to the Asian region. Locals also speak English which makes it easier for native English speakers like Nigerians.

8. Berlin, Germany: Germany is a relatively safe country which makes things easy for a solo traveller. It's inexpensive underground subway, array of historical sites including the Berlin Wall and massive department store, the Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe) which is the largest in Europe makes shopping and commuting easy for a solo traveller.
