Do you think it's overrated or not?

Is it such a bad idea to have food served to you while you are still trying to wake up from a long night? Find out what men and women think of this topic below.

Breakfast in bed

Most African men may have come to the conclusion that breakfast in bed is overrated but when we asked most of our female readers, the reverse is true. After some amount of research, it's apparent that both men and women feel differently about eating in bed!

Why Breakfast in bed is overrated:

  • Some men argue that it's not an African tradition to serve the morning meal in bed. They claim that if the Western culture finds it special, Africans don't have to.
  • Other men say it's not in their habit to eat outside a table or a sitting/dinning room. ''It's never my thing to eat in bed, not just my habit'', a reader argued.
  • Only a hungry man steps out to look for food. Meaning those who expect food to be served in bed are really not so hungry, hence need no food.
  • Breakfast in bed will get the women lazy and always expecting the men to serve them in the morning. These men argue that their women might become used to the gesture and take it for granted. Could be a point of arguments which lead to morning fights.

Why Breakfast in bed in not overrated:

  • It's not an everyday thing. It's meant for special occasions especially for a couple who just had a great night... if you get my drift!
  • Good for mothers! It's not a bad idea for a husband to surprise the mother of his kids with a meal in bed sometimes. She's been working since the previous day, with kids, house chores, laundry etc. So, food in bed could be a pleasant surprise.
  • Pregnant women desperately need this. It gives them some sense of relief to know they don;t have to deal with morning sickness and making breakfast for their partners while struggling with pregnancy.
  • Breakfast in bed is naturally a very romantic gesture which goes a long way to spice up your relationship. Watch the smile on your partner's face when he/she sees that meal as the first thing in the morning... overwhelming!

Giving all these factors, what do you think of getting a sweet meal while still covered up in a duvet?
