Sometime around the early 2010s, skinny jeans were all the rave, in different colours too. But a shift has undoubtedly happened, the trend has quickly run to its extinction even amongst women.
What happened to the skinny jeans trend?
If there is one trend we are glad ended, it’s the skinny jeans trend, especially on men.

The NPD Group, an American market research company, most recent statistics have confirmed that people no longer like skinny jeans. The sale of skinny jeans experienced a decline in sales in 2021 when compared to pre-pandemic 2019, while straight fit, flare, and boot cut jeans saw a rise in demand.
According to the research firm, straight-leg jeans overtook skinny jeans as the most popular style among American women in 2021. Straight-leg jeans also made up one-third of the market ($3.3 billion).
Quartz suggests that the pandemic and the lockdown made people seek for more comfortable clothing and preferred to wear sizes bigger than them.
Another reason for the drop in the skinny jeans trend is the silhouette; it brings out the shape of the legs in a way that many might deem unattractive.
For now, loose, free jeans are all the rave.
