Gold plated SS '16 brooch/pendant

Orange Culture appears to be the front-runner when it comes to the everyday modern fashionista who still wants to hold on to his/her African roots. Now OC is collaborating with emerging jewelry designer Azubike Ononye on their SS '16 collection.

You may remember Azubike Ononye from his heart shape brooches on some of your favorite celebrities, such as Chigurl, which was a way of raising awareness for the cardiac movement and people with cardiac ailments.

Azubike Ononye and Adebayo Oke-Lawal have collaborated to make some pretty unique brooches and necklaces, which are inspired by the fisherman’s net. They have a very African fluid yet rigid feel to them.

According to Azubike Ononye "The idea was to capture that moment when the fishing net reaches it's maximum span and height before it goes into the water".

The pieces come in silver and gold and black and work very well as statement pieces for those who are minimalists and don’t want to have so much jewelry on them. It appeals to both the fashionista and the African.

Let us know what you think of the statement pieces.
