Sharing a goal; "to connect retailers who have great inventory but lack the market accessibility with the perfect customer for that retailer. Those retailers who do not have the resources to reach the African market and attract an even larger audience will benefit from the exposure they will get from Losode and customers can enjoy a wide array of fashionable yet affordable clothing, shoes, and accessories".
Losode.com is an ecommerce platform that provides quality clothing and accessories from fashion brands worldwide targeted predominantly at Africans in Africa and the Diaspora. The company’s main goal is to create a platform enabling Western and African fashion brands to reach and serve global audiences with ease and empowering fashion entrepreneurs in the process. Losode is clearly looking to disrupt not just the $31bn African fashion market but the global fashion industry at large.
"There are thousands of phenomenal fashion brands in Africa, yet less than 2% of them trade globally, this needs to change. The world needs to be able to access these brands – location not inhibiting. We are in Lagos for a few days and have just had an amazing photo-shoot with Nollywood actress; Keira Hewatch modelling a gorgeous collection from phenomenal fashion brand; Kiki Kamanu. Losode is extremely passionate about doing business for good, not just good business, we want to see fashion brands thrive on the global scene and smash existing trade borders in the process" Losode’s CEO Ade Adeyemi revealed.
Losode derived from the Yoruba phrase "Lo Si Ode" (to go to town) is passionate about seeing African fashion brands thrive in a highly competitive industry by bringing the world to Africa and Africa to the world through fashion and style.
The brand's Chief Operating Officer; Banke Ajayi attests to the fact that Africa is rich in culture, fashion and art and it is critical that fashion brands and entrepreneurs are given a platform to showcase their creativity. She says "not only is Losode, focused on making money, we want to help African fashion entrepreneurs become truly global by equipping them with ‘the how’ and ‘the what’required to compete on a global scale".
As the brand constantly works to grow its offering, Losode aims to have something for everyone; the university student, the working man/woman and the fashion enthusiast who’s preference is to read the latest fashion news via Losode TV, the Losode Blog and the Verdict – Losode’s online magazine. The brand is aspirational and truly inspirational.
