With a goal of empowering the Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) sector in the country to enable it play a more active role as catalyst for economic growth and development, Sterling Bank Plc has given Keeks (Winner; Meet The Executive 2016) and Mezzi Leroy a platform at LFDW 2016 x Retail.

LFDW X Retail which is scheduled to hold from October 28 – 29, 2016 Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos is a platform for members of the fashion and creative community to sell their work.

KEEXS is the first Innovative and Social Footwear Brand in Africa which was launched in Dec, 2015 on Kickstarter.com; the world's largest Crowdfunding website. Keexs products are urban and athletic inspired sneakers and design inspirations are Afrocentric; infusing and celebrating African elements ranging from the environs to socioeconomic issues, art, music, culture, and Influential / Iconic figures in Africa.

Mezzi Leroy, another footwear brand which prides itself as entirely Made-In-Nigeria and owned by a young entrepreneur will be showcasing and selling its product at X-Retail.

Mr. Abubakar Suleiman; Executive Director of the Bank explained that the Bank’s decision to sponsor LFDW 2016 was based on the need to diversify the nation’s economy in view of the sharp decline in oil export. “We also need to adequately harness the abundant talent in the fashion industry to support the local economy”, he added.

The multiday fashion event, Mr. Abubakar said, would serve as an avenue where fashion professionals, buyers, consumers, enthusiasts and media operators come together to appreciate the current collections and work of African designers in Nigeria’s fashion capital, Lagos and further promote Made-In-Nigeria products.

Sterling Bank will also be providing free Wi-Fi for guests at the venue.
