I wanted the gown to be streamlined yet extravagant and demure in color but provocative in cut. It shows off Kate’s sexy athletic figure at its best.
According to Kors, “Kate is such a California girl—super-glam but laid-back at the same time, I wanted the gown to be streamlined yet extravagant and demure in color but provocative in cut. It shows off Kate’s sexy athletic figure at its best.”
In the end, Kors designed a glittering pale blush column gown with a bold cutout above the waist. From the front, the look was the perfectly suited to Hudson’s bronzy glow, highlighting her toned abs and bare décolletage.
However, from the back, the dress looked completely different: almost entirely covered-up, with a modish choker built in for reinforcement. Thus, the awards proved the perfect time to showcase both sides of the dress and her personae.
The midriff-baring slash, although falling in line with the other skin baring clothes and trend of the night, seemed to tower high above all others.
