Golden globe winner, acclaimed DJ and hip-hop musician, Idris Elba is known as a man of many creative talents but so far we haven’t seen his fashioning designing prowess until now.

On Thursday, the pleasant and charming debuted his 250-piece A/W menswear collection, that has been put together in only eight months, for the British streetwear brand at their flagship store on Regent Street in London, to the public.

Elba’s comfortable, street-suave signature style shines throughout the versatile line of structured bomber jackets, two-tone wool blazers, casual shirts, cashmere knitwear, tailored heavy wool pea coats, leather jackets, ultra-soft cashmere-mix sweats, and hooded sweaters emblazoned with giant IE logos. “

And the 'Luther' star - who was dressed head-to-toe in his own range at the event explained that ''It's a '24-hour' collection; clothing guys can look and feel great in from day to night.'' He also added he relates to the brand founders, Ian Hibbs and Julian Dunkerton, work ethic.

He went on to say; ''I'm passionate about what I do and always give 100 per cent. If I had the opportunity to have any influence in fashion, this is it. I'm not a designer, but I'm passionate about clothes and I know how men want to look. Functionality and durability were key things for me.

Idris later returned to the Regent Street store with an entourage of black Range Rovers and an army of 12 models wearing the pieces from the collection for the launch party, attended by former world heavyweight champion boxer David Haye and actress Noomi Rapace among other celebrities.

The collection is now available online and at high-end Superdry stores and selected Selfridges store.
