According to a post from Elle Romania’s Instagram account just a couple minutes ago; “In case you were missing #RafSimons and his amazing minimal with a twist designs, he’s just been announced as the new #creative at @calvinklein! #ElleNewsFlash.”

Simons had left his job at Dior after a three-and-half-year reign in October 2015, due to contractual disagreements with the brand, being the cause of his exit.  In the meantime, Simons committed his time to working on his namesake label, which most creative directors wish to do when leaving fashion houses.

Mr. Simons’ spring/summer 2017 collection will be unveiled at Pitti Uomo in Florence on Thursday, June 16. The rumor of Simons’ new gig was fueled by the departure of the brand’s menswear and women’s wear directors, Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli in April.

Calvin Klein himself had hinted about Simons’ new gig earlier in an interview with Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen, he said, “They just finally made changes in the design staff. They won’t announce [the designer’s name] publicly because it’s under contract. But the whole industry knows...They are doing something that I had hoped the would have done, which is replace me… Find someone who can with a singular vision oversee everything that is creative.”
