Beyonce takes home the 2016 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) fashion icon award.

The pop queen who is currently on tour picked up the prestigious award yesterday night Monday 6th June 2016 in a glittering Givenchy suit paired with a wide brimmed hat in black looking unique and chic.

The council is the most prestigious in the United States and globally with a revered list of notable fashion designers and style icons on the roll call chaired by iconic designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

The pop queen was praised for her fashion influence and her new outerwear line Ivy Park which recently courted controversies.

The CFDA fashion icon award is the single most prestigious award presented annually globally. Other winners for this year include Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Brandon Maxwell and more.

Past recipients of the awards include Rihanna, Pharell Williams and other notable personalities.
