This year, the red carpet did not disappoint, as the stars turned up in stunning looks from Jesse Williams’ all black outfit to Empire actress, Taraji P. Henson’s glittery two piece number and Gabrielle Union’s one shoulder Marc Jacobs gown.
The Nigerian stars were also not left out of the mix, as Yemi Alade rocked a rumored 2.5 million naira Zuhair Murad piece and Falz rocked a laidback monochrome outfit on the red carpet. Falz has already won the BET Awards 2016 Viewers Choice Best New International Actas well.
The award ceremony recognizes great achievements in black entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and motion pictures over the past year. Pop queen, Beyonce and rapper, Kendrick Lamar opened the show with an electrifying rendition of ‘Freedom’ from Beyonce’s latest visual album, ‘Lemonade’.
