Cynthia Abila
Eponymous label Cynthia Abila is an emerging womenswear brand that explores modern silhouettes whilst still being very much rooted in its African roots. Talking about the typical Cynthia Abila woman she says,"My muse has changed. She's enjoyed success and now has an appetite for it. The pieces were made for the Cynthia Abila woman who loves to explore the diverse culture of worlds beyond her walls but yet holds passionately to her roots and in every way seeks to tell her own local story."
Last night's collection was a celebration of femininity. The flowing fabrics and vibrant colours gave the impression of the Cynthia Abila woman being a fearless and embracing to power of her sexuality.
With a palette of sumptuous reds, stripes and use of traditional aso oke, with a mix of modern power suits and ladylike midi dresses, the collection had a little something for everyone and was overall, a cohesive and well put together collection for the eponymous label.
