Menswear enthusiast Akin Faminu shows guys how to make statement in plaid
The menswear enthusiast/influencer and blogger chose to style a bold statement plaid making a show of the coolest styles; a wrap top paired with shorts1
The fashion lover breaks down the look and shows style lovers alike how to rock the look. "Plaid lends itself well to all manner of designs, so there’s a modulation to suit every man" Faminu shares.
"There are certain peculiarities about today's outfit. First is that it comes in bold plaid, secondly, the cut, style and tailoring details of the jacket, thirdly, the styling! "Apart from the pattern of this outfit, it's no news that making jackets in a robe like fashion is heavily in trend this season and designers have adopted different styles of making this happen.
I'm particularly not a fan of wearing a belt across a jacket (bear in mind, there is also a belt holding the trousers), it makes absolutely no sense to me, functionally and aesthetically speaking but this of course is both functionally and aesthetically appropriate as it serves as the replacement for the regular suit buttons, giving the jacket a creative spin" he says about the look.
"The jacket is also lapel less, which makes it more casual than the ideal jacket, hence that advantage was taken, and I went for shorts styled with mules (which is also in trend guys!!) rather than trousers and oxfords.

From classic Prince of Wales to oversized windowpane and plaid, checks are a recurring theme in men’s tailoring season after season and considering the versatility of this timeless pattern – eye-catching, rather than attention-grabbing – it’s easy to see why.
Thanks to its strong visual impact, plaid is definitely a pattern that makes a statement! Do you think so too?
