Tash by Tasha Godwin did velvet and prints mix for showcase at the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2017....
The brand had offerings for women (think Velvet mixed prints, wedding guest inspired) only as against many new brands that offered unisex fits making a show of velvet and prints in the collection making a debut at the fashion week.
Ball accordion pleats on velvet print mix bodycon, evening dresses with print mix in velvet, a print long sleeved piece with layered tiered bottom which was a favourite! Tiers over tiers are a yes for the bold, daring 'stylista') were featured in the collection.
Asymmetric print patchwork dress, print satin mixed A-line floor sweeping piece, sheer lacer cut lace, 'shimmy' shift, sheer top over velvet pants, evening dress with a mix of lace and velvet, print mixed with silk/satin on evening dress and more were also featured on the runway.
Most of the models came bearing rose petals with their looks. The designs on velvet weren't anything outstanding and thinking about the creativity that could come with creating the velvet, the pieces in that fabric fell short.
