Today, 5February, 2014, is a day to celebrate and give thanks to God for MavinRecords first lady, Tiwa Savage, as she celebrates her 34birthday.

The ‘ was born in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1980, before her family relocated to London when she was 11years old, where she slotted into her high school’s orchestra band as a trombone player.

The singer, songwriter, recording artist, performer, actress and brand ambassador for MTNNigeria and Pepsi, is currently signed to Sony/ATVMusicPublishing and MavinRecords owned by DonJazzy.

Tiwa Savage has had quite a sterling career in music. Many people do not know that he co-wrote the track, ‘CollardGreens&Cornbread’ on FantasiaBarrino’sGrammy-nominated album, BacktoMe.

After graduating with a degree in BusinessAdministration from the UniversityofKent, TiwaSavage started working at TheRoyalBankofScotland, but the lure to do music was too much for her that she dumped her banking job to pursue her passion.

At the age of 16, she did back-up vocals for GeorgeMichael and also lent vocals to other musicians such as MaryJ.Blige, ChakaKhan, BluCantrell, EmmaBunton, KellyClarkson, AndreaBocelli, and Ms. Dynamite, among others.

She has performed on stage with Sting, 50Cent, TheBlackEyedPeas, Eminem, RobbieWilliams, and Destiny’sChild, amongst others.

Her deal with SonyMusic solidified her to write for Babyface, KatDeluna, FantasiaBarrino, Monica and Mýa, among others.

TiwaSavage released her debut studio album, ‘OnceUponaTime’, on July3, 2013, before releasing her first debut single, ‘KeleKeleLove’, in Nigeria. The song made its way to the top of several Nigerian music charts.

Since she relocated to Nigeria, she has not looked back as she is one of the hottest female singers in the country at the moment.
