As part of efforts to reduce the increasing number of youth unemployment in Nigeria, the federal government through the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE) introduced the StarpUp Friday.

The fourth edition tagged "Future Hack" took place in Abuja on Friday, July 1, 2016. The event had in attendance 32 investors, 455 co-founders and15 pitches with Persona emerging as the winner.

Speakers at the event were; Chris Okenwa (Silverbird Television), Enuma Okoro (CEO, Avenir), Andy Agbo-Madaki (CEO Decy-4 Technologies), Jola Aderemi-Makinde (Industry Manager - Google Nigeria)

Others include; Collins Onuegbu (Signal Alliance), Ore Sofekun (Investment One), Folorunsho Gbadamosi (Co-Founder, Ask191), Obinwanne Okeke (CEO, Invictus Group), Mrs Cecilia Ibru and Mrs Hilary Nwakwo.

Bunmi Okunowo, the National Coordinator of OIIE expressed optimism that the individuals who pitched at the event would attract the attention of investors form within and outside the country.

The third edition took place on April 22, 2016. The fifth edition is expected to hold in September, 2016.
