The event took place on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at Guiding Light Assembly (GLA) House, Parkview Ikoyi, Lagos.
In the celebratory spirit of Christmas, the December series was tagged: Love, Sex and Music – finding the spark to make it last. The event kicked off with a welcome and introductory address by Co-founder of Mind The Gap X, Pastor Wale Adefarasin, after which Leke Alder took the stage to discuss the Critical Mistakes/Issues That Lead to Separation & Divorce.
Few minutes after, Pastor Bolaji Idowu took the stage to expound on the Destructive and Unrealistic Expectations in Relationships. After which there was a Q & A panel with Bolaji & Omowunmi Idowu and Leke Alder, moderated by Wale Adefarasin and participants had the opportunity to ask questions.
A very interesting couple’s interview segment tagged Getting It Right in Marriage & Relationship featured renowned couples - Tara & Fela Durotoye; Olu Jacobs & Joke Silva; Alibaba & Mary Akpobome followed immediately. This segment was moderated by Co-founder of Mind The Gap X, Lanre Olusola (The Catalyst).
The room got really hot as panelists were peppered with questions from hundreds of couples who desired to get it right in their relationships. There was tea break and networking sponsored by Tastee Fried Chicken and Nescafe.
The program moved into a practical breakout session for Men and Women tagged: Let's Talk About Sex which was coordinated by Alibaba Akpobome, Wale Adefarasin, Fela Durotoye and Lanre Olusola for the men and Tara Durotoye, Omowunmi Idowu for the women.
After the breakout session, it was time for Feedback Session for both men and women facilitated by Alibaba and event anchors, Tomi and Dolapo, sharing their observations from the individual breakout sessions. Speakers received custom gifts, specially packaged and labelled by Kara Africa and Emisara Accessories.
There were live performances from Gaise Baba and Isaac Geralds; it was anchored by The Merchant of Romance herself, Oyinkansola Alabi. Filled with couple bonding games and activities, Barbecue, Music by DJ A3, Finger foods and Mocktails.
A night’s stay at Eko Hotel for two couples, Makeup class for two at House of Tara, a total of 14 boardgames from Bestman Games, two spa treatment gift cards, brunch for two couples at Southern Sun Restaurant, Dinner gift vouchers for two couples worth N20,000 each from Tarragon Restaurant, Weekend for two at Southern Sun Hotel.
Photography sessions for couples from Nimz Photography and Metezy Photography respectively, 12 ankara laptop bags from Design For Love, Fictional and Non- Fictional books from OLCA, Mocktails from Elle’s Ice Box and so much more were given away for FREE to participants.
