iCreate Africa is set to hold Africa’s biggest Vocational skills event this October

The project is designed to serve as a sustainable solution to Nigeria’s high unemployment rate, skills shortage and industrialization, a platform created for youths to showcase their skills.

Designed to create a conscious awareness on the importance of skills development while actively bridging the skills gap and preparing the youth workforce for the skills of the future, iCreate Skill Fest will hold from 26 – 27 October, 2018 at A- Class Park and Event Centre, Maitama.

iCreate Skill Fest is a project that is designed to serve as a sustainable solution to Nigeria’s high unemployment rate, skills shortage and industrialization, a platform created for youths to showcase their skills.

The event will act as a catalyst to promote the advancement of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Nigeria. It will focus on building a unified, credible, creative and innovative skilled workforce in Nigeria by creating a global Call-to Action to prioritise vocational education and training.

The Skill Fest will comprise of a Skills Competition, Business Pitch, Panel Discussions , Awards Night, and Industrial Exhibition for the purposes of elevating discourse on technical and vocational skills as an important tool for employability, wealth creation, innovation and lots more.

Skills showcase iCreate Skill Fest

The competition will showcase 16 sets of skills, which include Brick Laying, Plumbing, Carpentry, Tiling, Tailoring, Art, Hair Dressing, Make-up, Website Design, App Development, Animation, Robotics, Cooking, Photography, 3D Animation & Restaurant Services, with 3 winners emerging from each category.

The Exhibition is in two streams which, respectively, afford multinational and indigenous companies the opportunity to showcase the quality and diversity of their products and services, while creating an enabling environment for young people, aged 10 to 28, to explore a wide range of career opportunities that will inspire informed decision about future vocational prospects.

The Skill Fest is organized by iCreate Africa in partnership with Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Julius Berger, Sterling Bank, Industrial Training Fund, Abuja Chambers of Commerce and Industry, World Skills Barbados, Siemens, The Bosch Group, Delegation of Embassy of Nigeria in Germany.
