NGO to visit Ikorodu suburbs to bring hope alive
Bimbo & Friends would be visiting the rural-urban area, Majidun in Ikorodu suburbs to bring hope alive.
The Majidun area of Ikorodu plays host to over 5,000 residents who live in the dirt-filled location without drainage or a dumpsite, a situation that has created a refuse-strewn environment that has become a breeding ground for many life-threatening diseases. To this end, the Bimbo & Friends Initiative has proposed a community service project, tagged the Lend A Hand Community Project, that would involve the youths of the environ and help in imparting a value system that can neither be bought nor traded in life – a value system of Responsibility and Accountability.
The Lend A Hand Community Project will involve a massive environmental clean-up exercise in the Majidun community of Ikorodu, with environmental safety and personal hygiene seminars to properly educate the residents of the area on proper waste disposal methods and the positive impacts of a clean society. The project will also include a feeding and clothing exercise, with food items and clothing materials to be distributed to widows and their families in the community.
The Lend A Hand Community Project is slated to hold on the 12 of December, 2015 in the Majidun, Ikorodu and has partnered with various stakeholders to make the project a success, including Wemy Industries, Nigerian Bottling Company, Government College Secondary School, Ikorodu, OUCH Clothings, Wecyclers amongst others.
