Half Of A Yellow Sun Premier In Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria was brought to a standstill last night, Saturday April 12, 2014, as the premiere of the enthralling motion picture, Sun, and the cast of A-list Hollywood and Nollywood stars quietened the usually raucous streets of Victoria Island. This event marked the first Hollywood-style film premiere in Nigeria and witnessed the largest ever assembly of Hollywood's most celebrated A-Listers in Nigeria.

The star of the night was Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, accompanied by star encrusted Genevieve Nnaji, and veteran, Onyeka Onwenu, Wale Ojo, OC Ukeje, Gloria Young, Naya Amobi, Reginald Ofodile amongst others. The celebrities were joined by the highly acclaimed creative director, Biyi Bandele and the award winning producer Andrea Calderwood.

In continuance of its world-wide acclaim and overwhelming appreciation, the much awaited Sun thrilled a grateful audience and enjoyed a rapturous and unending standing ovation. The movie is set for release nationwide on the 25 of April, 2014.

Half of a Yellow Sun is a beautifully crafted adaptation and flies off the pages of the international best seller by our very own Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Set in 1960s Nigeria, Half of a Yellow Sun is an enormously powerful, entertaining, and uplifting epic love-story, weaving the lives of four people swept up in the turbulence of love and war. Half of a yellow Sun has struck a special chord with moviegoers around the world and is set to move the nation of its birth in a big way.
