Runway Showcase 5th edition set to hold in Port-Harcourt

Port Harcourt will be turned into Africa’s Fashion Capital when the city hosts the continent’s premier annual runway showcase With the global fashion community focused on Port Harcourt, AFDW 2016 under the theme “Be Inspired” will feature stellar collections from over 30 leading established and emerging African designers, the prestigious annual African Icon of Hope Awards, which will acknowledge the continent’s most outstanding innovative and creative designers.

As part of Bluepearl Services International’s commitment to fostering creative independence amongst new talent in the African fashion and design industry, AFDW 2016 will also see the conclusion of the Bluepearl Raising Stars competition, in which the most creative and innovative designer’s selected will each present a much-anticipated capsule collection, before one of the young designer’s is awarded the title of Bluepearl Raising Star for the year 2016 at the African Icon of Hope Awards

Each year, African Fashion and Design Week draws countless fashion entrepreneurs, buyers, industry professionals, and local & international media to preview the looks that will define the continent’s fashion trends.

In its 5th edition, African Fashion and Design Week will continue to showcase the magnificence of Africa through the creativity of her fashion designers, providing more retail access for designers to consumers globally, invaluable networking opportunities and celebrating each other in the African Fashion Industry.
