The awards ceremony which was held at the Tribeca Performing Arts Centre in New York, took place on the 21st of November, 2015 and was well attended by Africans in diaspora who are well known achievers in their various endeavours.

The chosen theme for this year was `Entrepreneurialism in Education’, which ties to the #TRANSFASTPROMISE campaign commitment to entrepreneurialism, through community partnerships and quality customer service.

Since ADA aims to identify and celebrate notable Africans that have excelled in various spheres of life, as well as individuals who have contributed to the advancement of Africans in the Diaspora and the continent as a whole, little wonder the Akon Lighting up Africa project was a deserving awardee.

The director of global e-commerce for Transfast, Mr. Jay Vix, stated in a chat:

“We were thrilled to be a part of this year’s awards and honoured to present the Advocate award to such a deserving recipient. Transfast continues to build robust partnerships with diaspora Africans.”
